The Punisher is comic book vigilante that has two gimmicks: he kills the criminals and his costume is cool. He is part of the Marvel universe, but you won’t see Spiderman in any of his movies.
First, the good parts of the movie: it has the bad guy Jigsaw in it. Played by Dominic West, who looked like he was the only one in the movie having fun. It was also nice to see that Jigsaw had a brother, Loony Bin Jim, played by Doug Hutchison. Last time I saw him was in his film debut “The Chocolate War”.
That skull should be a pussy
Major issue with this movie, you cannot see the skull on the Punishers. During the action scenes you have a guy dressed in black killing people. Punisher starts off good, but then our hero soon becomes a pussy because he kills a FBI agent. After a prolonged period of him moping around, I found myself yelling at the screen “Your the fucking Punisher!! Get your shit together and kill people bitch!”
Ray Stevenson, the actor who plays Punisher looks like Steven Seagal. With the Punishers slicked back hair during the movie, and all dressed in black I starting thinking what is Steven Seagal up to these days. With no skull on the chest, I could even fool myself that this was a new direct-to-dvd Steven Seagal movie. Even thought of ways of adding Seagal to the script so he could be part of this crappy movie.
The movie was violent; I’ll give it credit for that. There was blood splattering everywhere. But then the Punisher turns pussy, because he killed an undercover FBI agent. But he has no problem blowing away an unarmed criminal in front of a child. Get your fucking priorities straight Punisher.
Can someone explain to me why they can’t film a good Punisher movie? They will one day because someone’s going to follow this advice: Read all the Punisher comics. Find the best one. Film it. Receive accolades. Seriously, don’t spend more money writing a new movie when you’ve already got a good story sitting there.
